IMPRINT - THE BASICS
In Germany, an imprint is required for websites that do not serve exclusively personal and family purposes. It states who the author or person responsible for the content of the website is.
The imprint varies depending on the type of website and company (e.g. sole proprietorship, GbR, GmbH, editorial office, etc.). Website operators should therefore seek legal advice to better understand which information is relevant for their own imprint.
CONTENTS OF AN IMPRINT
In general, the imprint includes: full name and address of the company; telephone number, fax number and email address of the company; name and address of the registry court/commercial register where the company is registered; (commercial) registration number of the company; VAT identification number of the company; if applicable, information on the responsible supervisory authority.
